Most say they are sorry to the family, and MANY say, at the time, it was the only thing they felt they could do. If you feel this way (I had postpartum myself) and you are reading, please try to talk to someone. I know it feels helpless and hopeless, but please try. Ginny, thank you for writing this. People who experience depression feel similar things, yet react to them differently. There are ways to overcome depression, but mostly patience and understanding from outside forces, like friends and family, are greatly needed. I hope people who know someone who is depressed will read your post, and take in a better understanding of the disorder.
